Position Highlights | Seeking candidates for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate II for the research laboratory of Asmaa AbuMaziad, MD to pursue studies in actin cytoskeleton-mitochondrial cross talk in podocytopathies. Research involves podocyte cell lines and stem cell models. Studies may also include use of human cells and mouse models. Ongoing research includes novel approaches to study podocytopathies (focus on focal segmental glomerulosclerosis), both pathogenesis and pharmacological interventions. Candidates should have a PhD or MD and a strong foundation in cellular and molecular biology. Candidates with a background in biology and physiology and experience in kidney research are of particular interest. The successful candidate will join a team working in a research field with promising clinical applications. Preferred Qualifications | * Proficiency in tissue culture, immunohistochemistry, western blot, molecular biological techniques, ELISA, podocyte cell culture, mitochondria assay, seahorse experiments, action potential and calcium channels. |
